The Role

The most important characteristic is the ability to create and maintain strong relationships with the network operators. The ability to have meaningful, key conversations with the C Suite, business heads, technical heads and engineering staff is a critical skill. He/she needs to have a thorough understanding of the telecom domain and technologies. The candidate should be able to identify the requirements and developments in the telecom sector and drive the correct solution mix to meet the customer expectation while achieving the company goals. The candidate must be able to adjust to the nuances of the operator’s culture and corporate values. He/she must envision the future of the telecom sector and must continuously find means to bring them to pass. 

 

Responsibilities

Market Analysis:

· Conduct thorough market research to identify new business opportunities, industry trends, and potential clients.

· Analyze competitors and market conditions to develop strategies for market penetration.

Business Strategy Development:

· Collaborate with senior management to define and implement the business development strategy.

· Identify key areas for business expansion and formulate plans to achieve company goals.

Client Acquisition and Retention:

· Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and partners in the telecommunications industry.

· Develop and execute effective strategies for client acquisition and retention.

Sales and Revenue Generation:

· Drive sales initiatives to meet and exceed revenue targets.

· Work closely with the Telco TU and other relevant TU teams to develop and implement sales strategies that align with business objectives.

Product and Service Promotion:

· Promote the company's telecommunications products and services to target markets.

· Collaborate with marketing teams to create compelling campaigns and collateral.

Contract Negotiation:

· Lead contract negotiations with clients, ensuring favorable terms for both parties.

· Work closely with legal teams to finalize and execute contracts.

Cross-functional Collaboration:

· Collaborate with other departments, including product development, operations, and finance, to ensure seamless execution of business strategies.

Reporting and Analysis:

· Provide regular reports on business development progress, market trends, and key performance indicators.

· Analyze data to make informed decisions and adjustments to the business development strategy.

 

Requirements

The Personality

· Must be driven with strong business acumen, to grow the business pipeline profitably and sustainably.

· Strong negotiation skills across multiple stakeholders from commencement to closure

· Interpersonal skills, and be able to relate to a wide group of technical and business leaders

· Be responsible for our relationship with the customer, and grow customer relationships.

Academic background

· BSc Engineering Degree or IT related Degree offered from UGC recognized university.

· CIM or SLIM qualification (additional qualification)

Value Added

· Experience or exposure to key IT vendors and technologies minimum 5 years

· B2B sales experience minimum 2/3 years

· Basic knowledge in Supply chain management and international trading

· Proficiency in pricing strategies and skill in customer relationship management
