Lead Software Engineer – Application Innovation Services

The Person we are looking for

We are currently looking for a dynamic, goal-oriented Software Engineer who has constant drive towards innovation and hands-on experience to lead the development teams involved in development and commissioning of Digital Transformation solutions to our customers.

 

The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of the concepts of enterprise application development using microservices architecture employing domain-driven application design and subsequent development in a way that is not tied to a specific programming language or framework. He will thus be able to provide technical leadership to multiple development teams working on different programming frameworks, each best suited for solving customers’ business problems.

 

You will get the unique opportunity to be part of a team that is responsible for initiating and driving the digital transformation initiatives of tier-1 bank sand telecom companies in the country through Service Oriented Integration and API-first approach.

 

Primary responsibility of the lead software engineer is to drive a number of teams a cross projects to deliver high quality software that is secure and performs at scale meeting or exceeding the functional and non-functional requirements of the proposed project deliverables

Responsibilities

·  Be the technical leader of multiple development teams who are involved in projects that are in different phases of    the lifecycle, guiding each team to resolve technical challenges at each phase of the software development cycle

·  Be the leader in crisis by taking the ownership and driving the teams when facing challenges in project situations

·  Provide the required technical mentorship to team members of different levels of experience and skill in order to    ensure they are capable of meeting strict project delivery timelines while maintaining quality of coding and    adhering to the company coding and testing practices

·  Continuously improve quality of coding and unit testing, while ensuring company coding standards are    maintained and the non-functional requirements of the project are adhered to

·  Work closely with Software Architects to understand and contribute to the overall software design and translate it    into a low-level design the developers can efficiently follow in meeting project timelines

· Articulate the design and architectural decisions to customers and ensure development teams fully absorb the     low-level design for successful and timely delivery of project artifacts

·  Assist and guide the teams to adopt secure coding practices and approaches for coding to scale in meeting         non-functional requirements of the software projects.

·  Explore and research new coding styles, design patterns and coding practices and translate those to areas where    maximum output increase can be achieved in the software development cycle, brainstorm with head of software    engineering into incorporating those as improvements to the existing practices.

What we require

Critical Experience and Skills

 

· Enterprise software application development skills with at least five (5) years of specific experience in design and   implementation of large and complex business applications using Java/Spring Boot or similar, including2 years of   experience leading a development team.

· Experience in practical use of domain-driven design to decompose a business problem into constituent domains and   use microservices application architecture in design and development of software

· Complete grasp of functional concepts relating to application integration (e.g., SOAP/REST, TCP/IP, messaging)   security (e.g.Public Key Infrastructure, API Security) and middleware (e.g., Application Servers, Enterprise Service   Bus)

· Experience and skills in containerization of microservices using popular containerization technologies such as   Docker and container orchestration frameworks such as Kubernetes is desired

· Having worked in a continuous integration environment including experience in setting up and using a unit testing   framework as well as related tools.

· Thorough knowledge of software development standards and secure coding practices, performance engineering   and reliability engineering

·  Very good communication skills, both written and verbal using English

·  Is an active team player who can work effectively in complex, diverse and dynamically evolving environment.

 

Qualifications

 

·  Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent exposure.

·  Professional certifications in enterprise application development cloud application development are preferred
