Solutions Architect – AI

Job Overview
The primary responsibility of this role is to leverage the capabilities of the IBM Watsonx platform (Watsonx.ai and Watsonx Orchestrate) and/or popular open-source AI frameworks to deliver business outcomes to customers both locally and internationally. The role involves using IBM Watsonx technology patterns, the power of open-source programming frameworks, and solution engineering skills to deliver impactful Proof of Concept (POC) and Pilot projects, and to translate them into production-ready deployments.
Use cases delivered in this role will involve a combination of Agentic AI and traditional Machine Learning. The individual in this role will be responsible for architecting and delivering AI solutions using IBM’s cutting-edge technologies, with a strong emphasis on Agentic AI and Predictive Analytics. Collaboration with customers, business partners, and development teams is essential to understand pain points and design custom AI solutions that address complex business challenges.
Job Responsibilities
Proof of Experience (POC) Development
  • Develop POCs to validate and showcase the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed AI solutions using the proposed technology stack
  • Collaborate with end customers and business partners to understand the targeted business outcomes and ensure POCs demonstrate how such outcomes can be materialized efficiently and cost effectively
AI Solution Development
  • Develop POCs to validate and showcase the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed AI solutions using the proposed technology stack
  • Collaborate with end customers and business partners to understand the targeted business outcomes and ensure POCs demonstrate how such outcomes can be materialized efficiently and cost effectively
Customer Engagement and Support
  • Act as the technical point of contact for our sales and pre-sales team during the pre-sales stage collaboratively engage with customers to address their questions, concerns and improve on their feedback
  • Once the pilot projects are translated into production deployments, lead the design, development and deployment of the AI solutions
  • Provide ongoing technical support to maintain accuracy and other functional requirements of generated outcomes and predictions and ensure scalability and performance of the solution
Documentation and Knowledge Sharing
  • Document solution architectures, design decisions, implementation details, and lessons learned
Industry Trends and Innovation
  • Stay up to date with the latest trends and advancements in AI, foundation models, large language models and traditional Machine Learning models. Evaluate emerging technologies, tools, and frameworks to assess their potential impact on solution design and implementation.
Expected Technical and Professional Expertise
Academic qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in computer science specializing in Artificial Intelligence, Data Science or a related field
Experience
  • Proven experience in design and development of AI agents including multi-agent orchestration in delivering solutions either in the standalone mode or embedded into business applications
  • Experience in at least one of the popular Agentic AI frameworks such as CrewAI, LangGraph, PydanticAI or Autogen
  • Proven experience in design and development of Generative AI applications powered by Large Language Models using LlamaIndex and LangChain frameworks
  • Experience in designing and development of enterprise grade Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) use-cases would be a definitive advantage
  • Proven experience in designing and delivering predictive analytics solutions, with a deep understanding of the use of machine learning algorithms, both supervised and unsupervised in solving real-world problems
  • Proven experience in data preparation for both traditional ML applications (structured and semi-structured) as well as Generative AI applications (unstructured)
Technical Skills
Strong programming skills, with proficiency in Python, specifically in the use of,
Familiarity with at least one of the cloud-based AI/ML services such as,
Spark programming skills for data integration and the use of Presto for in-place data processing is a definitive advantage
Solutioning Experience
  • Experience in solution architecture and design, translating business requirements into technical specifications, and developing scalable and robust AI/ML solutions
  • Experience in AI governance frameworks and application of principles of responsible AI
  • Industry specific experience in delivering AI/ML solutions for Banking and finance industries is a definitive advantage

  • Ability to understand customer needs and business objectives.
  • Experience in working closely with customers and translating their requirements into effective AI solutions.
