Sri Lanka’s rising golf star, Reshan Algama, currently ranked No. 485 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR), has made history at the Asian Youth Games 2025 (AYG) in Bahrain. He became the first ever Sri Lankan male golfer to finish in the Top 10, securing an impressive 7th place among 51 of Asia’s finest junior golfers.

A Landmark Performance for Sri Lankan Golf

This landmark performance signals a major step forward for Sri Lankan golf, demonstrating that local talent can compete at the highest levels across Asia. Algama’s composed play, sharp course‑management and unwavering focus earned praise from coaches and competitors alike. His steady rounds reflect not just raw talent, but seasoned preparation and mental maturity. These are qualities that distinguish rising stars in the junior game.

Backed by N‑able for High Performance

Behind this achievement is the strong backing of N‑able, a Sri Lankan‑founded technology solutions company. N-able supports Algama with high‑performance training, international exposure and a data‑driven approach tailored with his coaches. “Reshan embodies the high‑performance mindset we champion at N‑able. We’re proud to stand behind young Sri Lankans who are breaking barriers and shining on the world stage,” said CEO Shirantha Herath.

Upcoming Competitions and Training

Building on his success in Bahrain, Algama will next represent Sri Lanka at the Singha Thailand World Golf Championship 2025, starting on 30 October in Hua Hin, Thailand. He will subsequently join a two‑day overseas training programme in Thailand to sharpen his technical skills and course strategy. On his return he will feature prominently in the upcoming Ceylon Golf League representing the Anuradhapura Gladiators. N‑able’s support will also extend support to his entries at the Sri Lanka Junior Championship and the Nick Faldo Junior Championship later this season.
